Bob Sobey contacted us recently to let us know how happy he is with his new Travelhome:

Rykers Travelhome

Just a short note to say thanks for your help last week. We are VERY happy with our Macquarie 25 Travelhome and when we came and saw you about a few small warranty matters you were most helpful.

Not only do you provide a great 5th wheeler you also provide excellent after sales service - this is something that is not always done in todays world. Whenever people admire my van (which is whenever I stop anywhere) I tell them what a great product it is and what a great mob you are at Travelhome.

Thanks to you, Kylie and Dean.

Rin & Sue Rykers recently ordered a new Travelhome with some special extra options, and this is what they had to say about the experience:Rykers Travelhome

Hi,

Both Rin & I would like to say that the Travelhome has exceeded our expectations and the whole process of discussions, meetings and pick-up have been the most satisfying and enjoyable experience we have had.  Your expertise and service has been faultless and a special thanks to Geoff for the fantastic conversion to our Dodge Ram and making it a great combination.  Please extend our appreciation to all at Travelhome.

Peter & Veronica Rowbottom are another couple who have upgraded to the new Macquarie 29. We recieved the following email from them:

Hello Jason

Firstly, thank you for all your help and input into our new 29’ Macquarie with extra kitchen bench Travelhome,  As you know we were very happy with our 25’ Travelhome, but were just looking for the comfort of a couple of recliners and extra kitchen bench, the design you came up with has suited us perfectly, we could not be more pleased with our new 29’. On our trip back to Tassie, Peter was very surprised at the ease of towing, in fact he said it towed like a dream, and he could not notice the difference.

We have spoken to the couple that bought our 25’ and they are very happy with their purchase and said that you could not have been more helpful, we will see if we can get them to come along to a fifth wheeler meeting early next year.

Thank you also for the handle you sent to us, it arrived very promptly, Peter has now managed to fit our new one into our garage, he just had to do a slight alteration to one beam to allow the Air Conditioner to fit in.

Well, thanks again for all your help, look forward to seeing you when we come to The Mainland again in May 2009, when we can not wait to use our new home for a longer period of time.

See you then,

Cheers

Peter & Veronica Rowbottom

Norm and Sandy Needham were the proud owners of a Macquarie 25, and they recently upgraded to the new Macquarie 29. We recieved the following email from them:

Geoff, Jason, Kylie, Arthur, Pat, and Dave,

We would like to thank you all. Firstly for making the ownership and use
of our Macquarie 25 a most pleasurable experience, and secondly for your
help with the design and building of our Macquarie 29. That has been an
even more pleasurable experience.

You will be pleased to know that the 29 fits in the carport with a few
millimetres to spare. I really was not looking forward to raising the
carport. We have now loaded it with all the gear from the 25 (with room
to spare) and are looking forward to some time away after the school
holiday crowds disappear.

....

It is refreshing to find people who obviously work well together, and
who happily make the time for their customers. The Travelhome factory
seems like a very happy place. Again, thank you.

....

Cheers
Norm and Sandy Needham

Travelhome and Steven Richards Motorsport Join Forces!

Travelhome, Australia’s leading designer and manufacturer of 5th Wheel RV’s has teamed up with Ford Performance Racing’s (FPR) Steve Richards.  Steve Richards “I was looking for an RV to take to V8 Supercar events, somewhere for Frosty and I to prepare for races and relax during our down time. After looking at a few different options, I came across Travelhome and was impressed. The smart design philosophy of a lightweight 5th wheel RV behind an everyday light commercial Ute, such as a Ford Ranger means no special licence requirements. The 25ft Macquarie Travelhome has a combined length shorter than a Car and 18 foot Caravan combination with the added towing stability that a fifth wheel combination can provide”.

Incorporating over 35 years vehicle building experience, each Travelhome is individually constructed in the Hunter Valley near Newcastle in NSW. Being Australian built means every Travelhome is manufactured to comply with The Australian Motor Vehicle Standard ACT. Travelhome is setting the standard in Australian fifth wheel RV design and manufacture. Their luxury 25ft Travelhome has all the features you could want with a built in shower, toilet, ducted heating and a/c. Add to this its sleek, aerodynamic shape that helps with fuel efficiency and luxury features such as built in DVD, CD and LCD screen, the Travelhome is surely the best way to see Australia and New Zealand.

Jason Dutch – Travelhome “We’re excited to be teaming up with such a great competitor as Steve. He’s a
number one performer and so is Travelhome so it’s a great combination. All of us here are very much looking forward to seeing our product on display at the V8 Supercar events and building a strong relationship with Steve.”

Geoff Dutch – Travelhome “This partnership with Steve has come at a great time for Travelhome. We’re growing as a company and have dealers across Australia and in New Zealand. We’re selling more Travelhomes each month, we’re proud of our product and believe Steve is a fantastic ambassador for us.”

If you want more from your next RV, then have a good look at a Travelhome - Australian designed, built and owned.

Steve’s Travelhome will be on display in the paddock at the majority of the remaining rounds of the V8 Supercar Championship for 2007.

Norm Needham from Newcastle, being an owner of a Toyota Landcruiser Wagon and caravan had his vehicle converted to a tray back to tow his new Travelhome.  Norm wanted to keep the comfort and towing performace that his Landcruiser offered but still tow a Travelhome as opposed to a conventional caravan.

Most people we know have at some time in their life dreamed of traveling.  When we are young it is mostly overseas we think about but in today's climate we are more focused on our own country.  Why no; there is so much more to see and do in this great country.

My huband, Gary and I have been trying to see a bit of the country side over the years but it has been limited to holidays from work.  We started off with a tent and graduated to a tent trailer then a caravan & motor home.  Over the years we experienced a wide diversity which was enough to give us itchy feet so upon retirement we were ready to take off full time.  The big dilemma was, which way to go about it.  As anyone who travels a great deal will know, there are pro's and con's for every type of accommodation but we just happened to call in on a Travelhome Dealer on our way back to home base to buy some new hose pipe.  Thats when I fell in love!!!!

We had read a lot about fifth wheelers and also had seen inside a couple but the moment I stepped inside the "Travelhome", I knew it was the RV for me. Gary, obviously more technically minded, needed to know about the chassis, how it tows, what vehicle to tow it with etc , but the space, the decor and just the general feeling of homeliness sold it to me.   I thought I would have trouble explaining how I felt to my friends but now that we have been living in it for several months, even total strangers say just how livable it is.  I honestly can not think of one thing that I need that I have not got.  Hot showers, a toilet, an inverter for the kettle, toaster, lights, TV etc when free camping and the fuel economy towing keeps Gary happy with Travelhomes aerodynamic design.  Another big plus is the queen size inner spring mattress, much better than foam in the hot climates.  One person did ask how I manage to make the bed, I replied, I just make it!  I have had a hip replacement and so if I can do it with ease so can most people.  The best part is when we are backing in and setting up in a caravan park there are no "domestics".  Gary says it is so easy to manoeuvre and I just operate the electric lifting jacks to lift and lower the Travelhome as required.

The craftsmanship is second to none and the service and friendliness at our Travelhome Dealer I can not speak highly enough about, but if you want to be inconspincuous perhaps you should look at something else as everywhere we go we seem to be the centre of attention.  Not surprising since we think we have the ultimate RV.

G & V Sharp,
Nissan Patrol &
Macquarie 25 Travelhome.

We have lived in our Travelhome Macquarie 25' since December 2005 and have so far visited four states including Tasmania.

The fuel economy of our Falcon RTV has been exceptionally good over the 12,000 km that we have so far covered and a fair portion of this was hilly country in the Alpine region of NSW and Tasmania.

Apart from the overall build quality of the Travelhome and the case of towing, the most surprising feature for us was the sleeping area.  We have alternated our bedroom from "queen bed" to separate "twins" and have found both to be very comfortable and not cramped.  The mattresses are the most comfortable we have ever slept on.

We spent a considerable amount of time researching which RV would most suit our lifestyle and have now lost track of the number of times we have told onlookers how pleased we are to have chosen the Travelhome in preference to a motor home, particularly when we need to grab an item from the shop or to go sightseeing.

G’day Russell (Motorhomes Queensland),

Just a quick note to say thanks a lot for doing those jobs for us.  We found our way to Forrest Glen very easily thanks to your instructions, the sat nav wanted us to go in a different direction but Julie overruled it and told me to follow your directions which were spot on.  We like the place so much we will be here till Monday before we move on farther north.

Please let us know when you receive the hatch and we can work out the nearest dealer at the time.

Thanks again for getting those jobs done in an expedient manner.  Sorry we left without saying goodbye to you but we were blocking the driveway and once we got rolling that was that.

Thanks, Norm & Julie.
